Tackle Complex Problems

Our MCM program uses an One Health approach to address conservation challenges, recognizing the interconnection between people, animals, plants, and their shared environment. Issues including emerging and resurging diseases, habitat-use conflicts, environmental contamination, ecosystem and climate change, biodiversity loss, and ecosystem function degradation transcend the boundaries of conservation biology, veterinary medicine, public health, and environmental health. To help solve these multifaceted issues, you will look beyond the traditional science—to examine the political, cultural, and economic impacts.

Thrive under Mentorship Coupled with Academic Excellence

As an MCM student, you’ll work alongside faculty every step of the way, learning from and collaborating with the most renowned experts in the country, preparing you for a wide range of careers.

Program Outcomes

This unique M.S. program is designed to:

  • Provide you with foundational knowledge in conservation medicine issues and applications.
  • Build upon your disciplinary strengths.
  • Provide you with experiences in real-world conservation settings.
  • Foster interdisciplinary collaborations and supply you with invaluable contacts from a network of experts.
  • Create opportunities for you to master and practice skills necessary to be a successful leader in the conservation health arena.

“Being an MCM student will forever remain a highlight of my life. The classes were engaging and interesting, they provided experiences that have been useful in my professional and personal life. The professors were inspirational and remain people that I look up to as I continue in my conservation career. My cohort was filled with amazing people, and I am so grateful.”

—Anna Miller, Tufts MCM Class of 2023
