Sustainability isn’t only about the environment—it’s the framework for a just and equitable society.

“We could have a green world that was deeply socially unjust, so we want to put forward the idea of just sustainabilities … the ability of people as individuals and communities to have a good quality of life and well-being in a just and equitable manner while living within the limits of supporting ecosystems.”

—Julian Agyeman, Professor, Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning
